Hello there fellow Netizens who chance upon this blog!

Much has changed since the last time we met.. Proud to say that im now a paid employee of MOE!! and just got bonus if i may add! Exams and revisions are a thing of the past as i am now getting comfy with seeing increasing digits in bank account.. =D

This is quite a big thing for me memandangkan brape lamer account itu telah selama ini semakin merudum bagaikan ekonomi cambodia dan laos.

Anyways, life in NIE has been great with each day making me feel more confident with being a full-fledged teacher!! perhaps i wll regret saying all these cos i noe many who try to escape the hectic life of a teacher despite the exorbitant pay.. nyeaheheh hopefully that day wont be any time soon for me lah ya?

Well, currently in my 'chalet-week' (cos im now gg sch in slippers n berms already) awaiting for e-learning week and a fun-filled month of overseas activities!!
1) Kuala Lumpur trip wif NIE peeps!
2) St John's island overnight wif family!!
3) Malacca trip wif family!!!
4) Vietnam expedition wif NIE peepz!!!!

Fuhhh.. if this keeps up, i might get PR invitation to M'sia and Vietnam!! =D

Well, hope my knee will keep working throughout these holidays cos i reallie need it aside from aesthetic purposes! (not that it is aesthetically appealing anyways.. =)

Well, its a little overdue but i dun mind.. Helooooooooo blog of mine and fellow netizens who chance upon this blog! Yes, im talking about you who is reading this with sudden apprehension that ur webcam might be on..

It has been months and months since the last time i typed anything on this green blog of mine right here! nasib baik the password is set at automatic login kalau tak, it would haf a been a waste.. *which reminds me of a certain indian joke i heard before*

Well, since everyone has been on a reminiscing mood and penning down their reflections for the year, perhaps i should follow suit and put down my own 20-cents worth?? Well, mine wun be as heart-felt nor nicely constructed in lyrical form and what-nots but ill try my best to sum up the best moments of 2009 in an MTV-style TOP 10 moments for Hanan's 2009!!!!!!!!

"Well hello there!! the bells are ringing, the snow should be falling in some parts of the world and sales should be hitting stores right about this time... Yes the moment is here once again!! Tis the most wonderful timeeee of the yeaaaarrrrr!!! Yearps u guessed it, it is Year's End once again and time for us to bid adieu to the old and usher in a new year, with renewed hopes and wishes i bet!! Tis the year of the Tiger (which i just found out while shopping in JP2) and yurps, its my year then!!

What better way to spend this joyous moment than to recap the best moments of 2009 in an MTV style top 10 countdown!?!? id love to put up pics and all cos that would make my post less boring and perhaps a video or two jadi u all u all boleh dgr sambil browse thru this wittle blog of mine.. =D

(Numero Ten-O) Trying out Mendaki Tutoring @ Hillgrove Sec

This would be at my 10th place of memorable events then!! Being a tutor to some of my frens' cussinz and brothers was definitely sumting new to me but it was manageable sebab budak2 tak begitu syaitan nirrojeeem.. Some were definitely more punctual than their tutor and this im not very proud of.. hehehe *smiles sheepishly*

But then again i gained valuable insight on how to handle a class tho it was half of what a real class would be.. But i taught English!! a subject which i always thot shld haf been taught when a kid is still at his primitive stages.. hahaha But this is a good platform for my English teaching in the future!!

Next up, Clementi Town Sec for secondary 2 exp n NA kiddos then!! =D harap2 teacher hanan tak perangai and comes early each and every morning ya?? =D

and i hope not to get Siti Asmah angry.. the money is pretty good..

(Numero Nine-O) Masok JB bertubi-tubi dgn members!!

If it was one thing i realised was the importance of having frens wif cars and license!! hahahha Hakim, Luqman and Fahmi white had reallie made me enjoy JB cos of their relentless pursuit of great seafood and fantastic ayam golek wif to-die-for chilli cuka dorang... Wahlau eh....

I for one, haf never enetered Johor thru the Woodlands checkpoint via car. and i cant remember the landscape there.. but the week of August 3rd, i went to JB TWICE in 3 days!!!! hahahahaha mak bapak pon bingung naper jalan2 pat singapore tak cukop sampai kene bawak passport skali..

But then again that made me understand why people buy houses in Malaysia and constantly make their way seberang Tambak daily to get the great food and enjoy the bargains!! Walaupon the service sucks and we arent exactly in the goodbooks of our fellow Malaysians, i thoroughly enjoyed Bowling, seafood gobbling, shopping, site-seeing, driving around and plain having fun in JB wif pals and frens in NUS...

Thanks lah guys.. Sebab korang, i had to bedek to my tusyen kid quite a number of times.. nyehehehe kesian dier.. tapi worthit ar bebeh!!

(Numero Eight-O) SC2221 Kompang Lecture and Tutorials by Kumpulan Kompang Al-Baikz

This was indeed an awesome year for Kumpulan Kompang Al-Baikz!!We are having bookings almost every other month and for 2010 kiter da ader 8 booking starting as early as january!!! Aniwaes, the moment that made 2009 abit more special was when members of a decade, Na'im, Remy, Haekal, Khamsya, Yusri were specially invited to conduct the Gamelan module which focuses on music in SEAsian nations..

We held the lecture and the 4 tutorials, of which all had hands on practice of the kompang playing!! Na'im and Remy did up fantabulous lecture slides which eventually made up one of the questions in the final exam!! hahahahah

How many people can say that they had lectured and conducted tutorials in university beb?? i doubt that mahy could then.. =D Thanks to Dr Thomas wif the suggestive surname of "Manhardt", for trusting us wif lectures and giving us the opportunity!!

(Numero Seven-O) Welcoming 2 extra members of the Family!!

Earlier in the year, who would haf guessed that my sister and i were crafting an evil but foolproof plan to smuggle 2 adorable kittens to our humble home from St Johns island!! =D Apparently these 1 month old kiddos were abandoned by their mummy and were relying on the people to feed them daily.. so poor thing rite??

Well, so we did succeed in bringing them into my sister's room tapi my mummy thot it was suspicious that i was leaning beside a small box wif holes at the top.. nyehehehehe well lo n behold dari tak suke jadi sayang plak nyer.. and now we are proud to haf 7 members of the family in our cosy 4-room flat in Jurong West..

(Numero Six-O) Being in Team NUS Silat

I still recall the days when there were 30 plus members coming for training and id be like "shit, dis year kene fight for a place ar shials!!" That reallie made me happy cos there was always the customary makan2 after a hard day's of training which always led to happiness despite the eventual painful trudge back home kalau ader injury.. nyeahehehe

Silat has always been the fun part in school.. lagik2 biler ader members training2 skali.. sebab tak mungkin ader silat practice yg takde ketawe2 and senyum menari.. *ok that last word i just put in entah kenape* But ya, the enthusiasm was membara lah kirekan.. nak kejarkan itu medal per.. and the guy who won gold the previous year da graduate dari NP jadi mungkin ader chance ar Nan!!! woohooooo!!!

But then 7th February 2009, a day that would forever be remembered in infamy.. Tengah semangat nak fight for the first time since the previous IVP, the right knee had to give way after months of soccer and silat.. haishes... Kinda upset till now.. wondering wad im gonna do.. Dgr ckp abah n let it heal on its own atau gi operation and still be weaker than before.. but better i think?? Hmmm... it sucks.. paralympics takde silat lagipon.. haishes..

But yeah.. i hope to get at least the chance to participate in another IVP.. sebab tak selalu i get to represent a school seh.. dari time JC soccer dulu - didnt make the cut, sampai ke university at least i get to don the school jacket n stuff.. Yeah, sumting like the first ting im good at but maybe the best i can get is a Bronze sahaje? =D

(Numero Five-o) Asian Youth Games

This was kind of a feather in my cap! Skali skala digelar sebagai official beb!! in a regional event plak tu!! and this was definitely a cool event, with lots of new frens and lots of food and of course the daily allowance lah!! hahahha it was like duit hari ni belom habis, da dpt duit lagi.. mcm ne tak koyak wallet aku asek byk duit jer... (chehh ni part lebih baik hamba stoppit sebelom kene tamparan tigerrr)

But i recommend anyone whu is thinking of being an official, to join for the upcoming YOG 2010 ya!! the allowances are far higher i heard and it looks pretty when u get the cert from SSC.. its all abt the papers when u join the workforce bebeh... plus u can brag to ur kids when ur old and grey..

(Numero Four-O) Tioman Trip wif Alan's Boys

Well, wad else can i say when a group of members travel overseas to a holiday getaway wif food aplenty and fish not many??? We are talking about fantabulous fun and sun in the beaches of Tioman lah!!! Superb boat rides to snorkelling sites and merepek meraban channels on teevee and all at cheap rates..

Down to dinner wif 7 courses of home-cooked seafood plus a surprise offer of red wine by our tour guide Alan, to Fairus, the apparent drunkard looking one.. =D

Well, the trip to n from Tioman was safe alhamdulillah and we hope to haf yet another trip overseas and perhaps even further than Malaysia the next time?? Stay tuned for the upcoming adventures of Alan's Boys!!!

(Numero Three-O) 6th Year Anniversary wif Besfwen

Anniversaries are superb lah.. Even tho kadang2 kiter tak ber-budget, the company just makes up for it.. hehehe *i tau, sweet kan?*

Anyways, this year was more than fantabulous.. Sebab we did wad we like to do... EAT!!! And where better to mamam than Carousel Dinner!! Weeeeheeeeee! this was the first time we are eating there together in 6 years seh!! And boy was it worth the wait.. Pics are on facebook by the way jadi ringankan jari lah ye click sana sini untuk tengok.. nyehehehe

So for those aspiring couples or already couples but looking sumting UP sikit, silakan cuba dinner di Carousel where u should not be bothered by how much u eat or how u'd look like after stuffing ur face wif food from various continents.. =D

A true test of love id put it..

Happy 6th year anniversary bietums!! may we haf more n more to come!! Walaupon kadang2 i ader ckp i tak favret nah.. but i hope there never comes a day when the pinching and the biting and the tickling and the smiling and the laughing and the non-acknowledgement-of-crappy-jokes seize to continue.. (Numero Two-O) Family Trip to KL!!!

This has to be one of the highlights of my year sebab bukan selalu kiter as a family gi overseas!! Serious-nesss!! Well, i just hope we get to go further and for longer periods of time in the future insya allah!! Lagi2 wif my kak going to nikah end of the year summore!

Kuala Lumpur was fantabulous too!! We just needed to be less rushing and stuff and try to enjoy being tourists lah... =D but the walking walking to n from the LRT stations was no joke bebeh.. Dgn bahang KL nyer mcm sikit seperti azab.. Fuyooooh..

But then the makan and the minums and the shoppings and the pictures were definitely worth a second trip there lah.. Sayangnyer kiter takde family pat KL, kalau tak we surely haf reasons to stay there longer and more often too! =D

Tapi dgr dgr next stop is langkawi by plane?? no need to sit in bumpy bus lagi alhamdulillah!!

(Numero Uno) My End of Year Activities!!!

This has got to be the bestest time thus far in 2009... Perhaps cos it JUUUSSSTTT happened and still etched clearly in my mind ya? But never mind it's my list and not urs. nyehehehe..

Well well.... Let's see wad we did ya?? We started off with 3 frens thinking up of a noble sports day for the kids at Darul Ma'wa. Then it didnt come together sebab kami tak serious.. Budden a few others had the same idea but wanted it to be held at a more feasible end of the year.. Thus, the quest got under way...

My onli wish is that KKK continue to be a staple event in Malay undergrad societies for years to come.. Not for the fame of starting it.. please lah.. i just wanna see that people still haf time to think about others despite being in a prestigious institution and understanding that there is more to life than the race for grades and such.. =D

Maybe one day the kids at Darul Ma'wa can do sumting like dat for the young kids in their generation.. that would be truly sumthing...

Just the sight of the kids, the amount of joy we had while putting this event together, the lack of squabbles we had during the whole running of the show, the cooperation we had from the organisations and the kind hearted public who didnt think twice about fulfilling the wishes of the kids..

It just makes all the tiredness and sweat all worth it..

Plus i went away from KKK wif a six pack and dimples from all the laughter!

Just another manic Sunday. (Woaahh oo woaaaahh..)

Today, it started off with a little emcee-ing stint over at Al Mukminin mosque in Jurong East. it shldnt haf been sumting new to me as my fren and i haf been invited to emcee their annual sports day every year for the past 3 years!! hahaha truly a fantastic bunch of teachers, helpers and a closely knit community base i tell you..

However, this year there was going to be a bigger celebration with MP Grace Fu, committee members and Chairmen from here n there being present to witness the sports day, racial harmony booths, the all style martial arts competition and the national day observation ceremony. Well, to sum things up, i reallie am grateful to the mosque for inviting us year after year to emcee at this event.. Kirekan kiter tolong dorang, dorang pon tolong kiter ar in terms of exposure to this line of work. =D

Well, pics shall be up once my blogger can show me the upload image button.. I cant even change my font lah for God's sake.. haha and the pics shall be on facebook under masjid al mukminin's profile.. cool or wad..

Later in the afternoon, pooped after a day in the hot sun, i went out wif the family to a family friend's wedding.. Da sampai sane, we were greeted by scores of bikes of various classes, colours and COE prices!! well, nutting to be shocked about.. da semakin menjadi jadi kan these brides n grooms being ushered by their frens on bikes.. kalau skali skala ok lah.. kalau police dtg pon boleh buat aper kan?? da ramai sgt yg tgh buat bising.. nyehehe..

Anyways, as we were eating abt 3 tables away from the pelamin, a 40-plus-yr-old man got to the mike and made this announcement..
"Kepada semuer budak2 otai eh.. korang tahu korang siape.. yg old timers harap dpt naik pelamin, kiter amek gambar ramai2.. sumer old timers please.."

Upon noticing that not many were moving.. he SHOUTED...

"Eh yg tuer-tuer pat blakang tu.. CEPAT DA!!" then some of them made some comments about the tuer part.. thus he added..

"Ye lah bodoh, aku tahu aku pon tuer.. siape cakap aku tak tuer, bodoh.. cepat lah naik pelamin.."

At this point of time, i was quite shocked.. no no.. more of appalled and embarrassed cos this pakcik was shouting into the mike mcm rumah dier nyer bilik air gituk abeh dier takde tuala lepas mandi... seriously seh.. takkan lah kalau umur da lanjut maseh tak tahu how to carry urself in front of others, especially when its not even YOUR child's wedding.. Members mmg members, yes, tapi takya lah excited sampai mcm gituk...

And it brought the question to this simple mind of mine.. Seeing generations of members in that certain bike club, i couldnt help but wonder.. what IS it that these clubs do?? ramai2 gituk dorang asek gi Malaysia ajer ke?? as in racing, holiday, duduk kedai kopi??

I noe some clubs haf extended their helping hands and done their bit for charity but i doubt so for this certain club..

A short stint with little ones..

Well well, tis been quite sumtime since my last blog posting.. been kinda busy wif outings and chalets and work.. hahah ok maybe not work, but still, i haf resumed my hectic scedule of tuitions cos the kids gotta sit for the common tests and prelims which are looming SO close, "if it were a snake, it wld have bitten them" (The Office Lady from Grease). =D

Anyways, my recent week had been well spent i believe, with relief teaching at a school in the west.. I haf heard of it plenty of times but never did i noe where it was situated at.. Well, upon my arrival on the first day, i was greeted by a chirpy looking teacher who made this comment "Have you been on Suria before?" Now what better way to start off ur relief teaching stint at a relatively unfamiliar place by being mistaken for a celebrity?!?! nyehehehhe

*brings hanan back to the ground*

Anyways, i was allocated to teach a new P1 or P2 class for every day that i was relief teaching, such that almost all the students in the afternoon session practically noes my name.. hahaha These kids are just too adorable to describe.. those who are devilish are reallie testing my patience to the max.. but those who are cute and wanna learn reallie make my face cramp up cos i wanna smile but cant, cos the class may step on my head if i show too much of the smile..

Anyways, this teaching stint reallie made me realise how tough these kids are to control!! and this gives me a totally new found respect for P1 and P2 teachers!! *bows to the senseis around Singapore* Anyways, i finished up my entire stash of tissues in 3 days at the primary school!! Kids were crying like all of a sudden, without me doing anything!! hahaha seriously!! and the reasons as to why they cried buckets were even more laughable lah bebz..

1) i was drawing an animal on the board and the kids were told to guess what the animal was.. Then suddenly there was this wailing and as i turned, an indian boy was crying his eyes out, wif his bigger sized malay fren beside holding a bottle.. Craps.. so i called both of them to the side of the class while the rest of the kiddos kept quiet..

so i asked the indian boy 'did ur fren hit u with the bottle?'

he shook his head and pointed to a girl. So i called her up to explain..

apparently, the girl said dat the animal i was drawing, looked like the indian boy..

and thus he cried..

2) i gave a maths quiz to P2 kids.. they were to get into 5 groups and at any one time, one representative was to come up and answer a question.. Thus, they had the power to collect points with every question correct!! alot of responsibility for an 8 year old huh? nyehehe anyways.. one of them refused to do his working and insisted on mental sums for a list of questions!! hahaha he sounded smart and hailed from the People's Republic of China anyways.. so i thot, not a problem!

But when i checked, his answer was kind of way off tangent so i had to mark him wrong.. But, i told him it was okay and that his mistake was a small one..

So he nodded and went back to his seat.. moments later, the waterworks began..

i dunno how it happened.. it was just sooo sudden...

So i went over and asked why.. and he answered..

"i thot i was clever.."

One of the best singers ive heard in recent times!!!

This singer is apparently Malaysian (Sarawakian to be exact) and is studying in England, which explains her accent and crisp English and strong command of the language.. =D Well, the first time i heard her single, Bitter Heart, which is fantabulous by the way, i thot it was a mat salleh nyer pompan yg suare not bad!!

So i urge u guys to go give her the 2 thumbs up cos she is just breaking into the Western market and dgr2 this song has made it into the RIA airwaves.. =D

The Reason I Smile Soo Much....

1) To the partner when exploring new stuff, new places, new things to do!! Never has there been a dull outing when im wif u.. =D

Just to inform those whu are wondering wads in the box.. its a brand new fone which i initially suggested she sell cos she oreadi got a pretty fone.. but then, after boasting to me abt the specifications and the high price it fetches and all... she presented it to me as a 6th year anniversary present!!!!!!! OMG!!! this has got to be one of the most expensive presents i haf ever received!!! and i reallie love it!!!!! i shal post up several pics which i haf taken wif the fantabulous 5.o megapixel cam..

6) I just find this cute.. one of the first things i learnt abt u was that u simply adore Doraemon.. hahaha thus the reason why i bought quite a number of Dory comics, scouring Singapore Buzz newsstands in search of the latest malay editions! hahaha

And ur bantal busyuk which u dearly treasure on the bed was from Tiny Toons i think.. yg ader bell below the chin of the Dory!! hehehe and was it me telling u the fact that doraemon is actually a cat but he got no ears cos his ears were bitten off by a rat?? hahaha

Thus thats why he is afraid of rats or mice!!! intresting i say!!

People Change...

Im currently on reservist at my beloved Cantonment complex and its been kinda great so far!! cos each time i go on resevist, it wld mean that im in dire need of cash and thats wad the government provides me with!! and i dun need to do so much labour nor use much of the thinking cells..

Ur aking me why?? well, here's my itinery for the first few days of reservist...

0900hrs: report sorang2
0930hrs: makan lunch
1100hrs: read newspaper in library
1140hrs: talk to the NS buddies
1200hrs: boss tell me to arrange stationery in 3 cupboards
1300hrs: lunch @ KTM
1430hrs: drive ppl to PNSD
1600hrs: NS buddy drives me home
1630hrs: Reach home n sleep

And i get 400 bucks ++ for this time spent in an airconditioned office wif my meals reimbursed after my ICT is over and all.. =D This is the reason why the saying goes "good things happen to great people" nyehehe

anyways, the focus of my topic is not that im getting money without doing much work.. its the people ive met during this resevist stint that makes me open my eyes bigger.. Makes me see the society aside from the close-knitted, always-mingling undergrad community.. (a great bunch nonetheless)

Well, i was in the 118th intake of Police National Service Force and i ORD-ed in Nov 2006. Well, a couple of my frens were in the same batch as me, doing the same office job, entered the same division.. but the thing was that they committed AWOL, absent without official leave, and thus were sent to the Detention Barracks, thus extending their ORD date... And they would haf a criminal record for that matter.. These frens are still serving their NS when im already performing my 3rd cycle of resevist..

Well, pendek kater, my frens were mcm setan ar before.. wif gerls keliling pinggang, slalu campak MC, didnt haf good relationship wif their Dads especially, had probs wif their superiors and sudah tentu slalu gadoh.. These dudes couldnt stand having a mundane task and doing a certain job until the end.. maybe just becos they cldnt click wif the boss or other PNSF..

(embarassing moment here)

I feel reallie amazed at their U-turn in life, having underwent the harsh periods of life and now being more matured and realizing wad to do wif life..

Budden again, they still do retain certain aspects mcm bual pasal hotel maner paling murah and this gerl and that gerl, etc. So i guess a perfect 'member' would be one whu could juggle both personalities at the specific moments in life i guess??

This blog entry shall encompass a trilogy of stories which would evoke the senses.. It may contain elements of shock, excitement, happiness and perhaps even embarassment.. Basically i felt too lazy to do up a new entry for every moment in life lah.. So i just compress em like a Singapore Short Story book lidat.. =D

Chapter 1: "God must be smilin' upon me..."

Recently, a lot of good things have happened in my life.. not that nuttin thus far has been good, but it just felt like a barrage of greatness which fell my way!! Well, firstly, im blessed wif good health n happiness with the holidays just kicking into gear.. My family is in good health and we got several family outings planned as well!! Gonna be putting the new Gazebo tent to its first task of sheltering this head of mine!!

Secondly, the trip to Tioman went well, with a fantabulous overseas trip filled wif superb food, adventure and bringing back memories! There wasnt much mishap except for the expected 'goreng' by the locals with regards to the pricing and sell-buy stuff...

Thirdly, as most of u guys would haf known, Malay Sports Association members haf been colllectively collecting the New Paper dollars to bid for the various prizes up for grabs!!! And, for the second time in my life, i won sumthing in a competition!! (the first time was at a lucky draw during the Silat DnD when i won 2nd prize i think)

Well, we won the cruise onboard Superstar Virgo for 2nights to KL and Malacca worth a whopping $1020!!! well, u might be wondering how come onli win cruise for 2 but so many ppl help to collect the TNP bucks?? Well, here's where the brilliant undergraduates' minds come into play!! We are aiming to sell off the cruise much cheaper (since we got it for free in the first place) and use the money to rent a chalet complete wif bbq expenses covered!!!

This way, we transform a collective effort into enjoyable rewards for all!! =D smart right?? now we just need to find buyers for this cruise of a lifetime!! Seaview rooms, romantic getaway for 2, departing on Wednesdays only and at more than half price!!! What a fantabulous milestone in life!!

Chapter 2: "Newcastle United FC looking for a manager??"

Well, this year i started off a long tenure as the soccer convenor for the Alpha Division futsal team!!! It has been a few years since i managed a team and this was to be a trial run to gauge my abilities!! (mcm paham je Nan?) nyehehehe nonetheless, i couldnt show the team my confidence and prowess in the managerial abilities, or lack thereof!

Thus, everything was prepared, kalau nak kalah pon, kalah dgn gaya kan?? Got the team adidas white-black jerseys wif number prints.. cantik beb.. Such a pity i didnt get one for myself sebab budget wise ar.. hahaha this team also never played togede before and training was done away wif due to lack of time.. (actualli cos i went to Tioman jadi nobody oragnise) hahaha

Thus, Alpah United went into the tournament wif laughters and little expectations as the manager deemed it pivotal to take games one at a time and not place baseless standards for the young team.. Dun get me wrong, we comprised of young and well-balanced individuals wif wide ranging skill competency levels!! But then, other teams had their club n national players while we had one supremo on court.. =D

One by one, we took the games with a positive mentality.. while other teams were fretting over tactics and opponents' next move, we were simply taking the game in our stride and playing our own style.. Cos of my lack of tactical knowledge, i let the players craft their own gameplay cos they know best!!

Pejam celik pejam celik, kiter Champions lah beb!! Wif a 2-0 scoreline against PCG in the finals summore!!!

Well done lah guys!!

And we were the onli team in the top 4 wif Chinese players!!

Chapter 3: "Harrowing experience at Immigration"

Upon leaving Malaysia, i went upon the ritual of passing my bag thru immigration, Singapore side.. The rest of the Special 7 were thru and awaiting outside the sliding doors...

Then wif me n my cheeky face, cant wait to go home and meet my family after 3 days of sun, sand n sea, i walked thru the metal detectors.. no sound.. must be good news!! And must i mention i was wearing red t-shirt wif the words "this shirt if for fun" and i was the onli one amogst us who brought in chewing gum.. 4 packets of em! hehehehe

Once i passed thru the detectors, an immigration officer approached me and checked my bag..

"Shit..." was the onli words that came to mind.

Then these words came out of the officers mouth.. i swear..

"Please take off your shirt." I stood there stunned...

"What? my shirt?"

"Yup, your shirt" replied the officer.

Now this was starting to become sumting like ive seen in the videos. *winks* but never did i imagine it happening to me!! So i asked why lah.... and this was wad he replied..

"Becos ur shirt is just for fun wad.." wif a sleazy pakcik gatal smile on his face...

"Terkejot kan sikit tadi??"

And i laughed togede wif him..

Well the good thing was he laughed along and even turned a blind eye on my chewing gum.. hahaha

Tioman Getaway wif Alan's Cheekies...

Well, hello there and goood day to one and all who read my blog. =D The Tioman holiday was faaantabulous especially so wif the perfect organization by Fairus, the indescribable (but by saying 'indescribable', im actually describing it) companionship which the 7 of us brought along and also the pretty wonderful weather which welcomed us on the island and off the jetty on our last day!!

Woooohooooo!!

Anyways, the whole trip has been well documented on Fairus' blog which u guys would find to be a great read!! =D What id like to highlight is the situation in which us, Budak Singapore, kene goreng mcm keledek gituk when we attempted one of our virgin attempts at fishing at the jetty.. Well, to save face, we did catch a commendable 3 fishes in 2 nights!! =D

Walaupon sumer kechik, they were big in our eyes.. (machiam paham moment)

Anyways, the locals there simply had a wide complicated network of lies which they kept in place to swindle the Singaporean cute guys out of their Malaysian ringgit, which was at an astonishingly high rate of 2.40 ringgit per Sing dollar!! nyehehe take that u money swindlers!! We bought generally 10 ringgit worth of sotong bait and a further 3.00 ringgit worth of bread which apparently the fish reallie truly deeply love to eat and wld not be able to resist..

Yeahh rite....

It actually doesnt take a genius to know that bread is made up flimsy fibre thingies which would dissolve upon contact with water.. and thus, it would be nibbled by the fish after abt 5 mins in the torrential waters of Tioman.. But, we still hung on to the hope that the locals were not as cruel to us budak kachang.. but, yes, they were a band of bandits, a group of cheaters, when it came to fishing gear and bait.. nyehehehe

Well, despite anything, Tioman was a blast and i'd go there again anytime kalau ader rezeki!! Perhaps a Redang trip or Cebu? =D kalau nak bual pasal Bali da ader sikit UPZ kan? and nak bual pasal Phuket perhaps ar.. Tapi seram ar political climate and craps.. Anyways, i hope that my earlier paragraphs had not given u a bad image of local Tioman ppl.. They are a humble bunch who are soft spoken and can cook up a superb meal for a hungry traveller..

Well, here is the man whu fed us wif burgers after burgers after burgers of Ramly each night we stayed up along the jetty after fishing.. hahaha the bread s truly one of a kind lah people.. fantabulous.. and the meat and the spices were just right.. not too much chilli, not too much bbq sauce... tak machiam pat singapore...

And, they love to take pics wif us too!! Thats how comfy and hospitable they are wif tourists like us who were having a delightful ice cream break! =D

Haishes.... and Hoooooray!!!!

for ending the exams last Saturday, 2nd of May.. It was the first time that i was one of those who ended exams earliest! and it is a good feeling!! hahaha The 3 papers on Mon, Tues and Weds were crazy lah..

Timetable was like: Study for exams till nite, take exam, stay in school till nite, take exams, study in school till nite, take exams..

And the diet was McDonalds for most of my exams days... Brutal beb.. if im not wrong (if im right), i haf gained a few KGs!!! Wow weeeeeee!!! More handles to hold i presume?? nyehehehe

Anyways, with the end of the exams, comes a sense of loss in life... i dunno wad to do wif my pencilbox that is.. hahaha ok stoppit eh Nan.. I dunno wad to do at nite after tuition.. no more books to read, no more notes to ponder, no more frens to try out past yr papers wif.. not that im complaining that is.. =D

Budden, now i gotta worry about another thing.. Yes, for those who are quick enough.. It IS that time of the year again.. Yup yup... THAT time of the year...

We all know that prejudice happens in this world but i didnt noe humans are now so upfront and forward with these acts that we do not feel shame for undermining others who are ethnically or economically defrent than us..

This was taken in an estate wif upgrades in full swing.. the lifts were not for contruction workers who are upgrading those useful machines in the first place!! ni mesti gara2 org2 tak bertimbang rasa and think they pay so much tax and go to better schools than the foreigners who 'need' the compassion that we are giving to them by allowing them to work here..

I just think its gross racism lah.. maybe others may argue abt the cleanliness wif the muddy boots and stuff, or the smell from sweaty workers being in the lifts?? budden again.. takkan lah locals takde yg haf smelly pits of sweat and cleanliness issues kan??

And i was pleasantly shocked that they sell 'Ketamine' in big packets now and in the NTUC supermarkets and Giant and others as well!!! They are right smack there in aisles!!! Ketamine man!! hahahha

Well, they are actually cornflakes but the term Special K refers to Ketamine in the drug business if i remember correctly!! And it just makes me wonder why the Heck do they nee to name it as such....

Wad a week it has been, wif the reading week being over in just a matter of moments!! There has been weddings of fellow NUS students i see on facebook, people going on holidays, incidents happening around the world and what nots..

Well, i shall make this entry a short one since i got essays n research to do.. most probably i wun do any time soon cos im a last minute kinda person.. but im not proud of it tho..

Well, i had just been offered a permanent post as Mendaki tutor at a sec sch in the west, teaching english to upper sec students! the previous week, i just took over both of these classes and they were kinda funny.. cumer i had a soft-spoken a.k.a Lembut nak mampos nyer student yg mcm tersipu sipu lidat when answering questions.. hahah

Aniwaes, its quite a good platform where i can get primary info on the effects of MENDAKI and its tutoring programmes!! i was teaching a class and couldnt find the teaching plan for the day. Thu,s i had them do a debate and the title was "MENDAKI tuition is essential to improve my grades"!!

Cool huh? and now i noe the inner most feelings of the students on the MENDAKI programme.. insya allah can use this to point out several flaws or positive points in the state's plans to focus ethnic problems to such ethnically segregated groups..

Well, i dun mind abt the waking up early as long as $320 bucks constantly enter my account each month!! but but but.. i received a letter that i am require to go for a 3 day course spanning 3 weeks!! and i haf to pay $225 if i wanna be a tutor for MENDAKI.. now wldnt dat be a reversal of my aims?? instead of saving up, i spend more!!

My Friday...

Well, turns out that i tore my ACL.. which is kind of a bad thing, seeing that Khamsya n Aisyah had the same injuries which put them out of activities for close to 1 year.. =D

I didnt think it was that bad.. actually, i knew it could be but i didnt think it would happen to me.. haha well, life's a bitch i guess but heckit could haf been worse!! i could haf broken a bone and cant do my assignments! or become permanently-impaired and able to park in the special lot!!

Anyways, yeah i went to scan my right knee to see how bad it was and boy, did it turn out to be an eventful day!! hahaha i mean reallie eventful!! so many things to talk about!! Well, firstly, its one of the few times im going to town.. so i decided to wear mcm up sikit ar sebab org2 town will see mah.. Andd... and.. whu noes at the clinic maybe got upscale ppl going for their botox and their uplifts and all, so musn't look so poorly dressed in case they put a dollar in my palm.. (but thats a good point actually)

1) When i arrived at Somerset, i had a shock cos the shopping centre which normally stood majestically opposite the traffic light, has been torn down completely!! Brutal man.. that's another thing to bring up during family outings (when i have kids of my own)!!! I'll haf to say the bapak2 phrase of "biler time abah kecik dulu... ader shopping centre besar pat sini.."

2) Then, while i was just in front of Swensens at Crown Plaza there, an ah pek approached me amidst the heavy human traffic in the blazing midday sun, and asked if i could spare him $1.50 for the bus ride.. Apparently he lost his wallet or sumting, or the value in his EZ Link was low or sumting.. So i didnt mind cos i had my coin pouch wif me!! =D Unfortnately, i just had like 50-cent coin n 2 20-cent coins.. so i just offloaded a handful of 5-cent coins!! hahahaha

Hopefully it made his day and trip home!! It doesnt hurt to help out people in dire need anyways.. My motto in life would be; kalau someone brings himself to ask a stranger for help, it must mean that he'she reallie has no other avenues at all.. And i tend to imagine if i were in his/her shoes.. Wldnt i want someone to help me wif a smile? =D

3) Arriving at Paragon, one cant help but notice how clean n shiny the toilets are.. and damn comfy as well!! Thus, to test just HOW comfy they are, urs truly decided to be a typical toilet-goer and yes, i am satisfied.. Well done uncle n auntie cleaner of Paragon toilets!!

4) At the clinic, i was asked to wear a flimsy robe but allowed undergarments to be worn.. Well, not the best clothes for me in Paragon on a Friday afernoon, but yeah, will do.. Hopefully nobody whom i wasnt comfy wif would attempt to sneak a peak!! Well, there was a lembut guy at the counter who showed me to the changing room and all.. But after the scan was over, suddenly it was HE who removed the blanket off me and exposed the supposed-to-be-unexposed!!!

One of the lowest points in my life by the way.. hahaha But nvm lah.. i gave him sumting to be happy about for the day or maybe even the month?? nyehehehe

5) Upon finishing my MRI scan, i had the shock of needing to make my way down again the next day to collect my results.. haishes.. not like Paragon is one bus ride away.. ok lah nvm, at least i got concession for bus.. can lessen the burden of travel =D But thats not the weirdest thingy!!!

6) At the lift lobby, wif just Starbucks and Cik Siti's office to go to, i was approached by this kanchiong looking Indon lady.. She was a domestic worker and was being sent by her agent to go for a medical at Paragin level 9.. If u haf been to Paragon medical bulding, u'll noe that the u need specifics to reach the place that u wanna go to!

Nasib baik i wasnt in a rush, and i was in a happy dappery mood, i decided to test out the 9th storey in the building we were in, then going back the original buliding which i registered at in case it led to her desired clinic. Nasib baik betol.. we found the clinic ard 445pm, cos the clinic closes at 5pm.. hahaha

Well, seeing how kancheong she was and empathising on how i would feel in a foreign country and not being well-versed wif the median language, i decided that it wouldnt hurt to help her out since she said that she didnt noe how to get to the lift lobby after the consultation.. =D She did say that she wanted to work longer in S'pore but looks like she had a fall out wif her agent and that she was going to be sent home to her kampung in West Java, i think..

7) Anyways... Gonna get 2 kittens by sunday!! My kak brought back 2 kittens from St Johns Island and they're gonna be in my house prancing around!!!

Kalau my mum allows it though.. hahaha
But then again, she had 14 cats of her own, growing up in ground floor of Tanglin Halt apartment.. =D

We spent quite sumtime rounding Mushtafaa centre cos i was soo intrigued by the cheap cheap stuff they had!! U just name it and they will have it in one of their 4 floors of shops!!! From branded to not-so-branded goods, Mushtafaaa has the supply to meet every consumerists' demands!!

Well, it was getting kinda late so me n besfwen went to buy the one thing we were craving for and set off for home!! Here we are at Farrer Park MRT station!! =D Well, there was nuttin much to do after a happy dappy day, so we had our very own Kodak Moments!!

Backtrack to 7pm:

Well, we had a litle lunch/Dinner at the restaurant beside Mushtafaaa centre.. Very nice food, very good service!!

The teh tarik memang superb to push down the food u just had and to let out the air when nobody is watching. (considering its the 'Silent Killer' type) Anyways, besfwen had the naan set wif the chicken tikka i think?

Well, well.. the start of yet again, another edition of Pantun in a Lecture!! (aka P.I.A.L in short) This year, i did not haf the blessed opportunity to haf similar lectures as Fairus, Zuraimi and Haekal.. Not all of us in a lecture anyways.. and thus we cant haf our usual P.I.A.L sessions..

But life is fair..for what life takes away from me, it gives me back!! hahaha now i haf found new friends whu are just as capable pantuneers as the previous pioneers of literature!! Well, now we shall haf twice weekly pantun sessions (god-willing) during our Perfumes and Cosmetics lectures!! hahah well, i think its time well-spent since the lecturers just read off the notes word-for-word!

My January so far..

This year has been kind to me thus far.. It already has its share of shock n awe and funnies and embarassing and laugh-my-butt-off moments.. (well, u get wad i mean) Aniwaes, id love to share sum of them on this little post here!! =D

1) One of the earlier happenings occurred kinda early in the year.. at the stroke of midnight on countdown actually..

Well, one of my frens was manhandled at a club and now faces the hassle of going to n from clinics to see specialists abt the ear.. the thing about this is that my fren is a lady!! Apparently, a drunk guy (Malay, should i add) hit her just becos he was turned down.. Now this i dun get... if ur being rejected by a girl and the only solution that u resort to is to hit her, then ur nuttin better than an animal!! (brings back memories of "Fairus, are u an animal?" ~Mrs Poh, A Maths teacher)

if this is the case, then ladies should be allowed to carry taser guns or electrocution devices or sumting so that crapbags like this guy would be jolted to his senses the next time he tries sumting like dat.. What a waste of his mum's energy raising a bum like that.. Well, reallie hope my fren is A okay..

2) Secondly, school has started!! and wad a start it has been, with biddings and ballotings and taking out moolahs to buy coursepacks and printing notes.. Really should start early this year.. "Start anew lah katerkan" (Mail, 2009).

This sem, i feel kinda okay cos almost all my modules are filled wif familiar faces.. thus, makes it easier during mugging periods! And aand aaaannddd.. My exams this sem will end kinda early!! (2nd May!!) This would be a first cos i NEVER did end my exams as one of the earlieast.. =D

I have also realised how important a five letter word is in life.. I haf realised it actually, cos im not a cucckoo chiau, but then i just realised how reallie reallie integral it is in making our lives happy or tumultuous.. "M-O-N-E-Y" makes the world go round as we haf often heard.. and i do realise it does this by shaping perspectives, providing avenues for success, providing happiness, etc.. Either in school, or marriage, or any position we are in life, $$ would prove to be the deciding factor between a happy man and a worrysome one..

Thats my take in life.. and thus, i will do all it takes to at least save $50 every month.. hahahha yeah yeah.. it mite be kinda small sum to u guys but for a spendthrift like me, it is a huge sacrifice.. the desire to withdraw that $50 bucks would be like sugar to ants.. like milk to a baby.. like burgers to a fat kid.. like nordin montong to white tigers... (well, u get the idea..)

Bottom line, save up...

3) Some crazy moments.. I have encountered sum reallie funny situations which made me sinfully laugh at the unfortunate incidents of others.. but they are funny.. what can u expect.. im just a human being..

Well, i was on my way to Woodlands on 187 wif Wittle Bie.. then i saw this guy who was kinda dorky looking but was sleeping like tido mati nyer on his GF shoulder.. hahaha that was already enough to make me laugh!! cos his face looked like a mouse wif his specs and buck teeth.. aniwaes, i dun mind that..

When we alighted at the interchange.. i was 3rd last to get off, followed by the guy and his GF.. Suddenly, the guy tripped on the kerb, stumbled machiam a frog hopping away from a hungry ass snake... (imagine that; like a frog..) and trying to get up but still stumbling cos his body was almost parallel to the ground which was a mere 50cm away from his body...

but alas, his ordeal was ended when he rammed straight into the butt of a fairly plump Chinese girl who just got off but was standing still.. =D

Now, wouldnt u classify that as a classic in your memory banks?? hahahhahaha I was one of the lucky ones, including that guy's GF who were lucky enough to witness such a marvel.. =D

4) Well, if there are happy times, there should be piss-me-off times as well!! =D Just today, i went to al-ameen eating house along Upp Bt Timah Rd and i got quite a rude welcome.. the owner whu noes me n my dad, told us that we could haf our dinner in the air-con place but "beware of a family gathering there cos its abit of a ruckus".. as we thot that we haf seen every type of ruckus a Malay family dinner could create, we went ahead towards the tables indoors.. Da duduk pat dalam.. mak datok..

The Malay family took up around 3 long tables, which makes up abt 30 of them.. Made up of teens, young kids and half were adults with one nenek.. I always feel happy seeing huge family outings.. but then.. they started talking and laughing and screaming and joking around..

Da lah indoors, the level at which they were talking was like they were seated beside a railway with trains passing by every moment!!! and they were laughing mcm it was the funniest Yo Momma joke ever!!! My family almost got up and left, cos we couldnt hear each other speak!! it was that bad lah guys... but we persevered and abt 30mins later, life was peaceful again..

Well, silat friendly is in a few weeks time... Tutorials start next week... Tuitions and payments will start rolling in... =D

If every year is a January, im gonna love my life..

2008 coming to a close...

Well, results are out and i can say that im kinda happy that effort has paid off!! Walaupon that A Grade still not within reach.. tetap i avoided any Cs... Alhamdulillah!!

And as for my parents, they will confirm reach home on the 31st of December!! i guess imma be taking the afternoon off as they will be touching down at 330pm Singapore time! Hope they will be in the best of health and may all their ibadahs be accepted!! Amin.. And may they remember to buy me a jubah that i had pesan-ed! (boyish grins)

Anyways, this week has been great!! Firstly, i got reservist pay already and i managed to scrape thru marksmanship for Shooting by 1 miserable point! hahaha but thats becos i didnt shoot 3 live rounds! id like to believe that these 3 would be confirmed masok target lah.. =D tapi tak pasal.. 1 point tak 1 point, im still getting my additional $200 this weekend!!

Seems like choosing reservist over happy times at outings does pay off! Literally!!

But, with the happiness comes heartache as well.. The Singapore team lost in the semis of the AFF Suzuki Cup, ending my trips to the Grand Ol' Dame forever i think.. Haishes.. Singapore lost in heart wrenching fashion and i think they shld haf won by 2-1 with all the chances that we had and considering that we were playing WAY better that the first leg... As usual tha fans were superbly deafening and characters reallie crack me up whenever im watching a match at Kallang..

Gonna miss those moments.. =(

Well, hope Vietnam will crumble into the hands of the Thais and then the Thais will crumble in our hands when the Asian Cup Qualifiers will see us against Thailand, Iran and Jordan in January onwards.. But these matches will be played at the Bishan stadium ar.. Kentalan bachen.. 10,000 people onli.. how to haf a remake of the Sin-Viet riots? =D

Well, hope to blog again pretty soon.. Holidays will be filled wif remnants of school gatherings, silat trainings, family fun and reservist leftovers... =D

Lest usher in the New Year wif a new resolution and perhaps this year, lets wish well for others, instead of just for our own well-beings... Wouldn't that be more selfless?

EXAMS ARE OVER!!! USHER IN THE HAPPINESS AND FUN!!

Well well, exams are FINALLY over and im superbly thrilled to be spending lazy days at home and just checking my facebook acct day by day.. =D Looking through the window as cars whizz by, smiling as birds fly by and chirp a "Happy good morning" to me..

Well, enough about me.. Despite the holidays arriving for me, tetap ader kesunyian sikit di dalam hati.. My parents went off to Haji last Wednesday, amidst my exams and will be back onli end of the year.. Haishes.. First time i see my siblings cry in public.. Well, me eing the eldest son, i clenched my jaw and put up a brave front (as i always do). But then abit ader lah nangis... =D

Hope they reach home in the best of health having completed a Mabrur haji.. Amin. Cant wait for them to come home!! But by then id be serving the remnants of my reservist cycle due to start on the 15th of Dec to 2nd Jan... (bleargh)

My days haf also been made more lonely wif Mai B. going off to Turkey since last Saturday, coming back onli on the 16th... But ill be in the crummy office of Cantonment.. And i cant fetch her home in the morning.. craps craps.. But nvm lah.. Just the thot of her having the time of her life playin' in snow makes me happy too!!

Well, silat has resumed and damn it hurts in the thighs n arms and hands and wrists and other parts which i shall not mention.. This shld also be due to the recent Qorban which me and Yusri helped out in!! This happened to be our first time catching those goats and holding them down to be slaughtered.. =D

Thanks to Aizat who calles us up to ask if we wanted to help out!! Reallie made my Hari Raye Haji a more meaningful one!! And and and... I saw Mr S. Iswaran speak in full unadulterated Malay!! hahaha he was there to witness the Qorban and all.. Tapi penat seh angkat 175 kambings.. But worth it bebeh..

Hopes and Dreams...

My hopes and dreams at the current moment..

1) My parents to arrive home safely after having fulfilled a fulfilling pilgrimage this coming December.. May they always be in the pink of health and overcome all challenges faced.. Hope they will not worry too much about my siblings and i over here in sunny Singapore.. Kiter da besar jugak.. =D

Ameen..

2) To make my parents proud upon reaching home on 28th of Dec to the news of my results.. Im the only one still in academics at the current moment and i would hate to break the cheerful mood of their arrival home.. I just hope to avoid Cs and get that long awaited A.. Insya Allah...

3) For Mai B. and family to enjoy themselves over at Turkey this coming December holidays!! Hope their journey there and back to Singapore would be filled with fun and may they always be kept safe and sound..

It really is a long way from home and the prospect of experiencing snow is enuff to make even ME feel excited.. But then again, im excited at almost anything.. =D

4) Hoping that all the friends i haf studied with and spent nights with will go thru the exams wif flying colours..

I haf seen the efforts of everyone of them and i really hope we all can get thru these years and wear that graduation gown same2 regardless 3yrs atau 4yrs...

O' Halloweeen With Mai n Nan!!

(Dun worry this is me, HANAN. Bukan Khamsya, if u know who that is)

Well, after a long long absence, here i am to provide an update on the life of me.. And my life basically revolves around my family, mai bunny and my friends! =D therefore, please expect nuttin but these topics being discussed in this edition of my blog post! haha

Anyways, i celebrated Haloween's this year by going out wif mai B.!! nuttin extravagant like going to clubs and drawing face paint on my face (duh!) and getting pimples the next day... Aniwaes, we did the next best thing to do on a Halloweeen!

And that we sure did.. We arrived there around evening if im not wrong.. (i could have said "if im right" but it just takes up more space..) We actually wanted to eat cheesefries at the New Yrok Pizza outlet at Harbourfront but apparently IT HAS SHIFTED TO OL' SCHOOL LITTLE INDIA BESIDE TEKKA MARKET!!!

Therefore, we put on our smiles and we walked around hand-in-hand just enjoying the crowd and the sights n sounds of busy people! And then, i proudly announced the idea of going to GIANT hypermart to take a look at the stuff in there!!

One thing about me is i love GIANT Hypermart cos they sell these stuff, especially mcm sports stuff or gadgets a cheap prices!! i loikes!!! =D Sengkek of me, i know, but its my money.. nyehehehe. Well, we walked down various aisles, and we came across the halloweeeeen section!!! hahahhaha and here are sum of the stuffs we came across!! and equipped with the camera, wad else would ya expect?? =D

Well, we proceeded to eat the second best thing after cheesefries at NYPizza, Cheese dip at LJS! hahaha yes another sengkek moment from me.. i know.. it was pretty good actually wif the new cheese meal that they offered wif the prawns and the fries and the skin on potato thingy.. =D nice....

Well, we proceeded on to dance around the moonlight at theclearing at the top of VIVOCITY, where a few ang moh children were playing around in the tunnels and the water squirts.. Kinda makes one reminisce on his/her own childhood.. Wif not a care in the world, not bogged down by hw, assignments, CAP scores, marriage, etc.. =D

Well, armed wif the trusty camera yet again, wad else would ya expect?? Wad else??

I Am Thankful for Everything and Everyone..

As the title goes.. i have realised the silver lining behind every single event that has happened over the past week.. It has been a trying few days and i sincerely feel that it has made me open my eyes to a much wider view on life.. I appreciate every moment i experience and look at each of it more as a blessing despite whatever difficulty it may bring me..

*cos God gives challenges to those servants whom he loves*

As many would haf heard by now, last wednesday wasnt such a great Hari Raya visiting for most of us.. But thankfully... really THANKFULLY, nobody got hurt seriously.. I know that nobody wants to reminisce that moment again... But id like to say that im very very thankful for everything that happened that day...

Why? cos nobody got hurt in such a situation.. Alhamdulillah.. It got us quite close as buddies and friends alike.. cos we got a story to tell the grandkids i suppose? hahaha just kidding..

Anyways, i wanna focus more on the people who helped me thru all this.. Without them being in my life, i wld still be sitting on my bed perhaps with the occasional teary eyes which i rarely produce.... (reallie) I have gotten over that day and am just awaiting and praying for the final verdict of the case to be mailed over to my house, along with the damage cost which i hope my parents would not have much to bear..

I would like to thank the following people and highlight them as much as they have highlighted me in their lives..

1) My parents had stuck with me thru this whole incident and didn't put on much pressure on me despite being the cause of the accident.. If i hadnt driven the van, nuttin of such nature would haf occurred.. He just went over the fact that nobody was hurt and that we just pray that everything is okay. Hello there one and all!!

Yes the time has come for everyone to start staying tuned for the weekly editions of Pantun in a Lecture!! We are glad to inform our loyal fans that as of this week, we shall be dedicating our Tuesday evenings to conjuring spine-tingling, abs-firming, muscle-toning, wrinkle-forming pantuns during our lecture!!

And as a way of maintaining our level of humour culminated in a high standard of malay language carefully arranged beautifully in stanzas.. :D Well, we haf also retained the batch of budding Pantuneers from the previous installation!!

A Lot of Responsibilty Fulfilled!!

Dear diary,

First and foremost, it has been a kinda tiring week with FOC performance plus Undangan plus Challenge Shield 5 plus Pesta Pantun performance juggled wif relief teaching and tuition for 3 kids.. * slumps on the chair just by the mere thought of it * Well, i shld also add that all have been very very worth my time cos in a way or another, has helped me improve myself, learn new things and help others.. Makes life meaningful for Hanan..

(Challenge Shield V)

Well, well, my first ever big event and me being in the comittee as programmes and logistics APD was sure as hell not that easy a job!! Firstly, i dont haf that many people under me as i didnt haf the persuasive powers to get people to join me in this noble effort.. hahaaha but thanks to Shabz n Raihan n Haekal for their kindest assistance in all they haf done for this event!!

I knew it was going to be a great event but the challenges we faced right up to the day prior to the event had reallie placed doubts in my head!! hahaha thankfully, wif nani, yusuf, hafezah and nunu being the strong individuals that they are, we pulled thru and the event was a presentable one in the end!! i sure saw the smiles and laughter of the participant, especially those whu were walking home wif medals.. =D

2 of the teams even stayed till late after the day to play by the seaside!! This was a great sign that we did chose a suitable fantabulous spot for Challenge Shield 5th edition!! We really want the participants to see that having the event outside of NUS would be much better than having it in our cramped campus, and that the high registration fees were worth every cent cos of the comfort that we were providing!! =D

Im glad they saw it as the morning started off scorching while the afternoon was raining cats n dogs.. But, CS5 continued with all its glory as we were under the safe shelter of Sports Planet @ ECP!!! =D

I sure am proud of this small team of talented individuals whu managed to overcome their lack of experience and resources and pulled off a great event.. We should do one more sum time in the far future.. hahaha

(Undangan Abang Azmi)

This proved to be another first in history for the BP kompang group of '99!! Nope, not because this was our FIRST undangan.. We haf gone thru countless of undangans after the first 2 unfortunate ones which resulted in a fight between the driver and the family of the bride! hahaha This one was a first as we only had 4 people playing the kompang to usher the bride n groom to the dais!! Goodness me... Anyways, on a hindsight, the majlis was a dinner and we wouldnt haf wanted to create a ruckus in the night time would we?? hahaha

The following day, thankfully we had 7 people playing for the actual event in which we actually were approached by the bride;s brothers to dance around and make the ceremony more enjoyable while they sang a popular song by Scenario!! This was yet another first for the BP boys of '99.. and and andddd!!!! we got paid 10 buck ASIDE from the amount we had from the kompang!!

Truly a great day...

For this year, the Freshmen Orientation Camp was held at Raffles Hall and subsequently along the Alexandra Arch and the Henderson Bridges!! hehehe New places and thus they decided to give it a try!! And may i comment that the places were indeed breathtaking!! All Singaporeans shld go ahead and haf a look at the sights and behold the awesome structures which are already built, allowing us a birds' eye view of Telok Blangah and Bukit Merah West area!! =D

The participants this year were generally less than our batch of 70, but they were nonetheless still as enthu or even more, than ours!! hahaha actally ours was even better with the cheers and the crappy stuff we did since we joined wif our formed cliques of BP guys and BP affiliates!! (Hasanul, etc) However, i only witnessed the camp from the 2nd day onwards and thus, would not be able to give an accurate account of how this year's camp is like!!

But, from the accounts of Faatihah of Red Terror and Aisyah of Cicak.. It seems like this year's camp is indeed a blast for one and all!! Despite shortcomings which are an inevitable part of big events, the PD, committee members and helpers had managed t execute the camp with near flawless effects!! =D and for that i salute u guys lah!!

Well, for me, as a helper and performer, i felt that i learnt alot of useful stuff during this camp like for the first time in 7 years, i actually practised as part of a dikir barat group!!
and we actually did pretty well if not for the small hiccup which we caused inconvenience for one lady.. Doing silat during the concertnight was also a fun one as we did get much applause from the enthu crowd!! =D Sure hope that many of them woudl join Silat!!!

(Conclusion)

Fulfilling week makes Hanan a happy person all over again.. Ready to start next week wif a smile!! As promised, i shall end off this entry wif an impt fact to note!! =D

Fact #2: Did you know that by the end of this year, they are predicting that the North Pole would not have any ice left!!! Craps!!! Can u imagine such a thing happening especially while we are still alive?? Imagine no more ice in the North Pole!!

Wouldnt that lead to higher sea levels and pretty soon, everywhere in Singapore, we'd be able to engage in water sports without even having the need for swimming pools or canals to be built!! We would have flats starting from level 6 onwards cos level 5 would be underwater and stuff...

ERPs would need to be rebuilt to cater for smapans and motorboats coming into the CBD area.. And we would need to fit our boats with the IU reader to place our cashcards and all.. Haishes...

Updates on Hanan's life..

1) Relief Teaching
Life is fantastic and has been so over the past 2 months.. But it suddenly dawned on me that i should be out there trying to earn money and save up for special events coming up *hints hints* as well as when school opens and i have to buy textbooks n coursepacks..

Thus, my position as a relief teacher taking History for all sec1 express and normal tech classes in a school in the west area almost reaching jalan bahar. (cant write the school cos i mite say sum stuff in upcoming entries and i would not like to be blacklisted by MOE or be featured in the New Paper)

Well, teaching life is especially challenging when i hafta wakey at 6am in the morn and get ready for school.. I dun even wake up dat early to go to MY school.. hahah but nvm change is sumtimes good in life! i now haf more hours to do stuff in my life! instead of the regular wake-up-at-12noon-and-wonder-wad-to-do-wif-half-the-day-gone kinda days..

Ive got a co-teacher!! She happens to be going off to NIE soon and thus, i will be thrust wif more periods than there are worms in an apple!! yes indeed! there are about 32 periods in a week.. more than some permanent teachers are handling mind you!! =D But nvm!! at the end of the day, as i sign off from work, i can put my mind at ease wif 65 more buckeroos in my bank account!! A good thing is that the teachers there are friendly lah.. Very nice people whu dun see me as a newbie but more of as a colleague!! hahaha

The kids..

Kids nowadays haf changed.. They are more interested in speaking out their ideas n thoughts without first registering them in their heads.. hahaha ok maybe exaggerating a little there.. The kids are rebellious even at sec one level and wun be afraid to tell the teachers!! i got the stories from the kopi sessions wif the ther teachers.. apparently i also had an experience but thankfully i was merely co-teaching at that moment..

For the first time, i was appalled and i followed up wif a sincerely angry moment in which vocal chords were strained.. *garang seh cikgu..*

But i think im gonna love teaching if its like this everyday!! I like the environment but just that i hope i can be prepared for eery lesson and wun ever look dumb in front of my students. I just think i can relate to them being less understanding of facts.. Cos i was like that too, being abit slow in catching up and just wishing that the teacher would come up to me and allow me to clarify.. cos i was too worried to sound stupid if i asked in front of the whole class..

Hope the kids like me n my style of teaching!! =D

Well, imma update u again laters dear blog!! Why not i end off every entry wif a pantun or an interesting fact eh? I shall start wif this one then!!

Fact #1: Did you know that there is no stall selling a simple meal for less than $2.50 in the western part of S'pore?

This was from a survey by CASE of over 377 stalls nationwide!! hahaha Well, that explains my empty wallet and dry pockets... No wonder the Mcdonalds that my neighbours eat are already cold due to taking the MRT from Pasir Ris where they bought the Mcchiken meal!! =D

But nvm! We still got the gas stations which pump the natural gas needed for the new CnG cars!! the stations are in Jurong island, Jalan Buroh and Mandai!! all within convenience for West residents!! =D And, we also get the privilege of living in a place literally brimming with people of various nationalities!! Some are from india, bangladesh, vietnam, thailand, indonesia, laos, nigeria, 2 are from cambodia and there is one from fiji but he comes out only after 9pm.

We cant have our cake and eat it now can we? Thus, we tend to lose out in terms of cheap food(which are probably not nice anyways) but we gain in other things like the ones mentioned! plus the aroma of chocolate and the occasional big fires from the industrial factories within a stone's throw away from our residences!

SILAT IVP 2008

Silat IVP 2008 has just ended.

No more trainings, No more worrying about the next match, No more involving silat trainings with bruises and sores and scaring myself out of my wits..

Im happy once again!!

Sore throats due to cheering the brave pesilats from NUS who surely flew the school flag high during the ISC (Republic Poly, 2008) this year!! We reallie had nice cheers thanks to our dear Naufal and also the whole contingent was backing the team no materif they were down or up! Even nuraini was shouting!! Had me abit shocked actually!! *Mcm terkenchet sikit tibe2 dengar suare dier pekik..*

Well, im happy wit myself! got a medal in my first year. I think it has been kind of a long way since late last year when i started silat in NUS. Just think tat i haf gained a whole bucketful of experience thru this IVP and im sure as hell gunning for same finishing or even better myself next year!! =D

Should i go up a class? Should i dabble in seni?
*ponders*

Anyways, i think the WHOLE team should be proud of themselves.. Not only the team, also the seniors whu came down and reallie showed their heart n soul was behind the team regardless of generation!! I reallie felt proud to be wearing that blue n orange jacket cos being involved wif such people is reallie worth every minute!

Hopefully we can continue and expand this family with the upcoming batch of freshies coming in in about 1 months time!! hahaha

Silat Camp Make It 2008!!

I just came back from silat camp aka Camp Make It.. It was indeed an eye-opening experience with stuff which i haf onli dreamed of doing.. The company was superb, the friendly was enriching and the trainings were GREAT!!! Tgk lah sape yg trainers kan? They did make us run the 2.4km route with timing seh and this was on the very first day of camp!! Str8 away after solat Jumaat.. Wah duuuhhhh...

I just wanna say that the camp couldn't have been more memorable than it had been if not for the people whu made it possible.. namely the organisers aka the next silat exco aka the ones whu came back from Perak aka Yus, Fara and Na'im.. They were working so hard dat Yus was sweating most of the time, Fara wasnt talking most parts of the camp and Na'im almost fell from Class A to an A-!! Thank you lah guys..

Next would be the trainers whu made time to mingle and share their physical brutality and pushing us fellow pesilats to our limits.. Lagik2 during the freakish run to Bukit Timah and back.. Just one of the things which i wun think id be doing on my own.. Thus, to the selfless trainers, Abg Azmi, Taufik and Din, reallie reallie thank you very much..

Moving on to a more macro view of things... i believe that the cake would be just as tasty as the dough used to make it.. Meaning that the camp wldnt be fun without those whu attended and contributed to Joke-joke-jokes!! From Syed Thesis to Zul Abg Body, to Syikin Adek Nini to Fahmi Abg Kiut.. Everyone played a part in making this camp a truly memorable one!! Thanks guys and ladies.. Reallie appreciate it..

Well, we still appreciate the trainers even though we were dragged out of bed on a beautiful Sunday morning and ran from Raffles Hall to Al Ameen along Bt Timah Rd and then proceeded on to run up Bukit Timah Hill!!!! And the best thing yet was that we walked/ran back after that... I believe i lost some kilogrammes along the Bt Timah route.. So please if anyone found any Kgs lying around.. its mine..

Last but not least, i have to give a special shout out to new found frens.. They proved to be the more memorable ones whu created laughter from the second night onwars.. Arumugam and his buddy, Joseph.. They stayed at the bottom floor, opposite the badminton court.. Apparently Arumugam reallie wanted us to see his favourite place on residence, the HARD-COOOORT!!!

Schedule of Events calendar for What's to come for Hanan's realm of Perspectives!!

After a long long looonnnggg absence from blogging, i have now come to the perfect moment in life, the holiday phase aka after exams phase aka cari kerje and go horay horay phase!! And thus explains the new look of me blog!! It is kinda easy to do cos i can do it!! =D

Getting a C-plus in Computing does have its perks.. I learnt cut n paste! hahaha

Aniwaes, imma start posting up dozens n dozens of postings for the next few months till the third sem begins with new frens and better times at NUS. =D Putting school aside, there are various plans too for the coming months, dgn family as well as the buddies, and of course..... the truly significant important unforgettable chubbiquitous Wittle Bunny!!!!!

Lets see now.. Looks into the crystal globe of the future...

1) Outing wif wittleness.. either a spa outing or a nice day out at a never before gone to restaurant... after which we shall be going out on a little shopping!! =D

2) Silat camp also seems imminent.. The sweat, blood and tears will flow during these three days of the weekend i tell ya.. Friendly wif NTU is also on the cards of my schedule!! hahaha first bou of my career!! =D

3) This would be followed by the 4-times-a-week practices for silat since its just 3 weeks to IVP.. It's crunch time or never lah katerkan.. i dunno wad dat means..

4) After which would be the Redang trip wif the big family!!!! Weeeee heeeeeeeeeee!!!! Gonna be superb.. Hopefully the results that will be released on this 30th May wld be something which would put me in the mood for holidays!! Insya allah.. =D

5) Well, more close to this posting would be the last instalment of Pantun in a Lecture for this semester!! Just to inform u, the last posting has all 4 of our Pantuneers ill be in action!!! Entah plak nyer next semester maseh ader this weekly source of infotainment for all u budding netizens.. =D If anything, we shall keep posting updates of modules which we are gonna take next sem togede!!

6th Edition of Pantun in a Lecture!!

Hey there everyone!! Welcome back to yet another edition of everyone's favourite installation of appreciation of the Malay language!! Where else would u haf a weekly update by the people,for the people? =D

Aniwaes, this week, we are saddened to say that Haekal will not be joining us for the brainstorming session due to commitments.. hehehe but tis ookay.. we would like to apologise if our standard of comedy has faltered for this edition.. Maklumlah, cuace pon sejuk nyaman and the voice of our lecturer was abit macam mendayu-dayu gituk!! Honestly!!

So please forgive us for this week ajer.. We assure u that next week's would be much much spirited and animated!! =D

5th edisi of Pantun in a Lecture!!!

Hello one and all!! Sorry for the delayed time frame in putting up this edition of everyone's favourite Pantun in a Lecture!! This week, we are glad to announce that our fellow Pantuneer, Haekal, will be joining us wif his quirky ideas!!!

Just to inform u guys and gals who continuously stay tuned to this blog for updates, we the pantuneers haf a code of ethics in which we haf to pay attention to the lecturer if we are not writing the pantun.. Anyone caght not paying attention will be severely dealt with thru a forgoing of his turn to conjure his pantun!! hahaha

Secondly, if there is a break in between the lecture, no pantuneer is allowed to conjure his pantun and contribute to the week's edition.. We are strictly a Pantun in a Lecture.. Thus, what's the use if we write it during the break right?? might as well cheat and write tha pantuns at home the day before rite? hahaha

ok ok takmo serious nah lerr.. hahahha just wanna say these pantuns are genuinely conjured within a time scope of 1 hour plus plus!! =D

4th Instalment of Pantun-in-a-Lecture!!

Assalamualaikom one and all, big or small, young or old, malay, chinese, indian or others!! Here it is, the moment which we haf been waiting for!! The fourth and final edition of Pantun-in-a-Lecture!! Well, gotcha there about the Final installation thingy rite??

hahahaha

Lets just say that we wun stop with this weekly appreciation of the Malay language till we end up in different lectures next sem!!

Or until one of us gets too old for this and decides to abandon his fellow pantuneers for perhaps Chinese idioms or Indian verses? that would be another sign of qiamat if i heard the syarahan correctly.. Hahahhaa maaf ye.. main main ajer. =)

A Fantabulous Weekend + Movie Outing today!!!

Yooo hooooooo! Well, hello there blog.. Just gotta update about my weekend and today's fantabulous day spent wif the Wittle Missus!! I had my first-ever Silat Performance at Sendeng Pukulan's 19th Anniversary Celebrations at Hougang St 61!! The place where religion hasnt set foot and Malays are still living in the feudal ages!! I saw a Bendahara walking around too!! =D

Hahahhaa

Aniwaes, I reallie enjoyed throwing myself around and mocking all the kicking n punching in the '4 versus 1' wif Zul, Yus, Fahmi and Chong aka the Choreographer!! hehehe These silateers are truly a talented bunch n will most probably lead NUS to the golds in their various categories this upcoming IVP!!! insya allah!!

Well, well, Id just like to make a recommendation to those of you whu haf significant others, or haf significant others in mind, or are targetting significant others in the future!!! A MUST WATCH movie for this season will most definitely be PS: I LOVE YOU!!!

If there was a movie which would make hearts melt like butter in a frying pan under a hot sun, then this would definitely be it!!! I watched this wif my Significant Other aka Wittle Missus, at the Cathay.. If not for my maruah as a jantan, senang kater, da meleleh lah airmata patik..

Hehehhee

Fantabulous acting by Hillary Swank (Boys Dont Cry) and Gerard Butler (300) brilliantly played the roles of a happily married couple who got together quite young but got seprarated when the guy passed on due to a brain tumour.. But then, to help his wife cope wif her loss, the husband prepared in advance, several letters, trips, etc to help her get on with life...

Truly a superb movie for couples or non-couples alike!!!

Why hello there one and all!! its time for another edition of Pantun-in-a-Lecture!! As you all know, we haf been actively trying to fill up our MS2210 lectures with creativity and passion for the Malay language.. We, the Pantuneers haf decided to recruit another one of our long-time BP pals who just changes module and got into our MS2210!!! hahahaha

Next week is recess week for us and even tho we love pantun, dun expect us to come down school during holidays just to sit around and make pantuns for 2 hours lah.. hahhaa nonsense lah u!

Second Part to MaiNan's Happy Post-Valentine's
cum
55th Monthsary!!

Why hello there!!

Guess ur still awaiting eagerly for the second installment to the Post-Valentine's day huh? hahah Well, wait no longer for here it comes!! It is still the same Sunday, the same place: Botanical Gardens!! As you can see, it is a fantastic looking day with coconut trees swaying 'neath the wispy clouds which decorate the velvety blue sky..

I shall show u some pics we took as we were about to skip out of the Gardens.. Truly a magnificent day i tell ya! But filled wif foreign talents to the brim!!

Here we haf me!! under a nice redup tree!! yes yes!! ini lah dia pokok yg dikatakan oleh Tok Penghulu dlm Nujum Pa' Blalang time nak carik pencuri lembu n kambing!! hahaha "ohhh.. yg redup redup tu Pohon Beringiiin... Eh kau tak nampak? Tanda nya kau nak mampos tu!!"

Hahaha still cracks me up each time i see that part.. How gullible Malays are.. hahaha Kesian kiter.. Aniwaes, it is actually a tree originatin from Venezuela!! in case u didnt know!! yes yes!! and by the way, Venezuela i heard is still a colony of the USA!! hahaha

And this is a sign which i think should be put up ALL over singapore!! hahaha it will make our nation-state a truly safe n secure one with beasts being leashed and under the supervision of their owners!!

DEMPSEY HILL!!!!

Guess u guys n gals didnt noe abt this treasure trove of a place!! A quick History lesson for us all.. Dempsey Hil, if u asked ur dads, Dempsey Hill was the premises of the former CMPB or Central Manpower Base where guys went for their pre-enlistment medical check up before NS!! hahaha truly a place of mem'ries!!

And indeed the buildings were like stores for armoury n ammunitions!! but with a tinge of class n a dash of interior decor plus influences from the Enlightenment & Renaissance period, Dempsey Hill has now become a place for the posh!! Indeed u shall see in the preceedin pics!!

Aniwaes, Mai Bies brought me to Ben n Jerry's for after-lunch treat!! hehehehe gerek seh!!! i felt so pampered!! and it was a never-been-before place for Mai n Nan!! The Ben n Jerry's was fantabulous i tell ya!! Lets see wad it looks like at the front!!

Nice eh?? Looks like a laid-back Western ranch!! hahaha macam nak masok dan order Gin n Tonic! hahaha And notice the swings at the side? hahaha Now THAT was a first time i saw swings for customers!! hehehehe

Truly a nice ambience for any occasion, for any company.. hehehe Well, if u notice the small hippie van guarded by the bedek cow at the right hand side? hahaha We sure took a shot wif that van!! =D

Here u have me asking the driver to shift it abit to the front so that the customers can exit from the back!! hahaha but he refused and left me all alone in the passengers' seat! haishes.. And i dunno why i stayed there in that struck pose waiting for Mai Bies to take me pic!! hahaha

Well, i wasnt the onli one whu took the opportunity!!!!

Tadaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Mai Bies oso!! hahahah here we see her enjoying the moment where there wasnt a driver at the helm!! i told her to make do like she was sitting on the wittle cow!! hahahah but unfortunately, the jitters got to her and we shall haf to settle wif a typical Kawaiii pic wif twist on the sides!! =D

Still kiut tho!! *pinches cheeks*

Well, we happened to get seats in the air-conditioned, pre-war building but decorated to make it seem like a tavern! hahaha it was truly a comfy place i tell ya, wif fantabulous top=class service! =D here we haf myself grinning like a cheshire cat upon receiving my order of Chocolate Cookie Dough with M&Ms topping n whipped cream plus hot fudge!! yummeh!!!

We can oso witness Mai Bies spotting the same Cheshire Cat grin upon receiving her order of Chocolate Thingy wif nuts as toppings as well as whipped cream n hot fudge too!! Hers was abit sweet and tremendously nicely decorated.. and so was mine!! hehehehe Cumer i realised that i dun reallie prefer my ice cream wif cookie dough seh.. hahaha

But thanks bie for the ice cream treat!! tee hee heee!!

Look at that.. so nice till Wittle Bies simpy cant bring herself to open her eyes when it travels down to her tummy!! hahaha

Aniwaes, further down would be our couple pic at Ben n Jerry's!! weee heee heeee!! Oh n if u go to wittle Bies' blog, it would also say this same thing im abt to say!! The guys beside us were gays u noe!! hahaha I noe its a social construct to say that they are gays based on how they dress n the way the spoke to each other and stressing every little thing with "Eewweyy.." but dats GAY..

Well, here u can see the perfect ambience which is being presented here at the ranch of Ben n Jerry's!!! There is a nice make-believe chimney wif a fireplace to go wif it.. and any performers are free to play wif the keyboard n sing a long as well!! Just beside this would be a big comfy couch fit for one to place his/her legs outstretched after finishing a meal of icecream atop waffles!! hehehe ummm!!! Sublime i tell ya!!

And the decor is fantabulous too!! just look at the pic below!! this is the chandelier which they got from sum Duke's manor in the hills of Mordor i think!! hahaha But it was truly fruity niceee!! They got these reallie comfy couches which lets our butts sink in while we relax like the Malays that we are!! hehehe

Thus, Mai n me decided to rest our butts down after the sumptuous meal and take pics befitting of MAXIM magazine.. Well, thats true on my part i thinks!! hahaha (macam paham)

Well, the place there was filled wif everything ice-creamy till event the dividers were icecreams!! hahaha see seee!!! I think i noe of the decor of my future home already!! hahaha will be a homely place for upbringing of the children.. Cheyyy...

Aniwaes, me n bies got a chance to encapture the happiness n joy in the air while we were still celebrating the 55th monthsary!! seee?? hahaha they are represented by the red, orange n blue swirls al around us!! hahaha

And all these by using a 6.0 megapixel camera!! truly a fantabulous revelation!! hahaha

After all these, Mai n Nan started on their way home.. Along he way, they got lost amidst the signs which showed us to various wooden shops which were selling lawn chairs n teak furnishings fit for the upper echelons of Singapore society!! hahaha

Reallie!! these stuff were like to place on the patio or swimming pools!!

And for me, i went ahead and found the Dempsey Hill sign!! hehehe and similar o the previous pose which i struck depan the signature Botanical Gardens gates... I struck this post as well!! To me, it is like the HOLLYWOOD Sign.. Dunno why oso!

Aniwaes, i feel reallie hapy to haf gone on yet another intresting never-b4-gone-to place in Singapore wif Wittle Mai Bies!! She reallie has this niche of organising the best outings!!

Thus, as we walked towards the bustop in the dimming sunset.. hand in hand.. we couldnt help but reflect the past 55months and perhaps thinking where we'd be in the next 55 months?

Superb Post-Valentine's Day cum 55th Monthsary Celebrations!!!

Well, well! Hello there frens and pals!! Today's posting might be a little close to the heart cos Im'ma be gushing all over about the celebrations that Mai Bies had carefully planned for me on 17th Feb!! Yes indeed! She was planning it to be a belated Valentine's celebration as well as our 55th months anniversary!! Aweeheee!! =D

Firstly, we met up at around afternoon after solat Zohor and after my Ustaz Fathris Jammin' session at Assyakirin! Tho it was a hot day, i felt that it was truly a beautiful time to take dozens and pics as you guys n gals shall see if u all are willing to scroll further down! =D

We were kinda lucky on that Sunday actually!! U noes why? cos we immediately got a taxi as soon as we stepped on the pavement! *seriousness* This was despite an Indian family decked in traditional costume having to diri tercegat at the opposite side of the road!! hehehe Sori Indian family! =D

Aniwaes, we reached the first location of the day which happened to be the lovely Singapore Botanical Gardens!! Well, as happy n elated i was, i still had the common discourse of being a typical Singaporean to take a memorable picture at the gates of the Gardens!! =D Trying to stretch out to the 2 side pillars there!! Wee hee hee!

Well well, we were going for a first-ever picnic at the Botanic Gardens!! hehehe weird eh? in almost 5 years being together, kami belom pernah pernah gi picnic bersame! hahaha Valentine's day was the onli time i tot of having a meal on a mat in a field under the stars! Hahaha

Here's the spread all over the spanking new mat which Mai Bies bought specially for this picnic! We got a perfect spot under a tree among the overgrown roots and most importantly, away from the blistering hot sun!! (apparently for the first 45mins only)

(In clockwise motion: my plate of terrifically prepared lunch, Snapple for me, dessert comprising 2 Yanyans, another prepared lunch, forknspoon, honey roasted beef which was marinated for the past 3 days!!, and Snapple sebelah)

Truly a delightful spread i tell ya!! Time for a food review!! I know u guys n gals are dreading to noe wad these pics taste like in real life!! hahah let the lucky one whu had a taste till his perot bone-chet, tell u of his experience!!

#1. Snapple Grape Drink: This drink was still kept chilled despite the blazing weather and the wispy clouds in the velvety blue sky. It added the tingling taste of sour n sweet to the whole 4 course meal with the backdrop of the greenery of Singapore's fauna.. Cheyy...

#2. Egg Mayo Sandwich. Tho it may not look presentable yet in the Ziploc bag n from this angle, i assure u that the Egg n Mayo sandwich sure packs a punch in the cuisine!! Truly fantastic!! Subtle yet added with pepper for a tinge of spice! Macam jugak relationship!! Tee hee hee!! =D *blushes* This sandwich was made using french loaves and it was nice with great texture..

#3. Mashed Potato wif Dressing. Well, my sis asked me "Whats that ar?!" Indeed it may look out of the ordinary from this angle, but then u should look at how beautifully topped off with cheese it was!! This would be the most filling food item on the menu!

The mashed potatoes wif beef bits n sumting-cheese at the top!! The inti was carefully scraped off to allow the skin to be re-used as a bowl!! Clever rite!! so creative one Wittle Bies!! hahaha i suggested putting in soup after we were done wif the potatoes!! Clever oso rite? hahaha

#4. Honey Baked Beef. And last but not least, Not last for all, here is the honey roasted meat which has been cooked to perfection and marinated till the flavour will tingle ur senses like a little bell!! hahaha haf u guys n gals eaten satay?

well, here i am proudly disclaiming that my Wittle Mai Bunny cooks meat like satay at the best satay place that u have aever eaten at!! Truly!! it was indeed, if i am to choose one, the highlight odf that afternoon's lunch!! Penyebab bonechet la kater kan..

"Tapi biar bonechet di perot, jgn bonechet di hati.."

And what would be a food critic if I didnt show u the glitz n glam behind the cuiine that was being displayed?! Tadaaaahhh.. i present to you, the chef in the kitchen, the fingers which peeled the onions, the hands which stirred the pot, the sweetheart which thought of the whole MaiNan's
day out!

Cheers!! As i tuck into the sublime aroma and rich tastes of the cuisine which lay before my eyes!! Jempots!! =D

After the lunch, we did play a game or two of Dai-Dee or in chinese the call it Big Two! =D Being an avid player of such a card game in the ol' sec school era, i easily brushed aside the opposition wif a clean cut, coolly finished, neatly passed 3-2 victory!! Woo hooo!! and thus, i shall post to you the pics of Ah Pek n Nyonya tgh main pakau..

Maseh ganteng ganteng you!

Ini gambar mai baru ternampak my combo of flushes n pairs which was given out hand after hand, and thus, resulting in a hands-down win in the first game of Dai-Dee!! Truly i haf not lost the touch of a winner.. And as a result, i get one sip off her Snapple Grape juice cos i finished mine!! Hey, cuace panas hokay!!

This is me again after grabbing the Best-of-Five series of Dai-Dee.. It just simply added on to the happiness n joy that our monthsary brought on that day!! hahaha Actually this was taken as i was sweating profucely under the unforgiving sun!

This was despite us shifting the mat about three times!! hahahah budden you can see the trusty Esprit umbrella at the back which was the reason why i didnt soak my shirt wet with perspiration n sekali gus, putting me in a bad mood.

Why hello there frens and pals! Welcome once again n thanks for eagerly awaiting the 2nd instalment of this segment of the month which we call "Pesta Pantun-in-a-Lecture". Its sumwhere along the line of Jack-in-the-Box and Wind-in-the-Willows.. Yeah, u got it..

Well, contrary to the previous Pesta Pantun entry, in which i conveyed my gratitude to the masterminds of this gracious love-for-the-language-inspired event only at the last part, i shall now showcase the creativity behind the laughter.. Bowling Outing bersame Family dan Significant Others!!

Why hello there blog of mine!! Time for another.. hahaha nopes.. not 'jooooke joke joke..' it just a simple entry! perhaps a joke in the next entry??

Well, yes, if you guys n gals were asking to urselves, "hey isnt that Superbowl at CDANS on the day after Chinese New Year?" I would have to say yes!!! hahaha what initially was an invitation to Halim n Natasha to a couplez bowling outing turned out to be a whole tournament lah!! hahaha My kak n Riduan turned up as well and my mum and dad oso came in full force!!

Wah piang eh!!

But nvm, senang kater, the avid bowlers stole the show, though in a subtle manner.. not the usual 5 strikes in a row or anything like dat.. hahaha but a credible 137-point game for my last game. Not bad eh??

It was indeed a shock for Natasha cos she wasnt told dat me parents and my sister n sig. other were coming along!! hahaha my brudder does haf his tricks to make an unforgettable first meet-up with my parents seh.. hahah Aniwaes, Riduan came oso dari a meeting in Telok Kurau! He came bowling in full Malay traditional garb mind you!! hahaha even I wear less formal to go for Friday prayers.. =D

Hahaha well, Halim had some skills and for a moment there i thot he may eventually win me in a game or two!! Tapi malang tidak berbau, jangan melukut di tepi gantang, buang yg keroh ambil yg jernih.. I won them, all.. hehehe With wittle mai bies quick on me heels!! She is indeed a consistent player u noe!!

Tapi there was another competitor quick on Mai's heels tooo!! That was my mum!! They were superbly close in the 2nd and 3rd games!! I was kinda surprised too!! hahaha Dalam diam seh mak pro-Bowler!! *Bangga anak mak*

Just wanna say that bowling wif my significant other has always been fun and enjoyable!! hehehe Kalau takde others around, she would be this competitive wittle bunny who would try hard to keep her hands straight after every throw just so that it would crash directly centre!! =D we shall haf more couple bowling outings ya sweetums!!=D

(My mum going for the strike! And my dad trying to follow some of the tricks my mum forgot to hide from prying competitors' eyes!!)

But my mum did get a strike on that day!! So proud!! hahaha well, it is a sublime feat for a 2nd timer seh!! hehehe Well, not forgetting my dad who has an intresting way of bowling too!! Firstly, he is a left-hander and he would try to twirl the ball just before it is released from his grip!! i see like ery style ar!! but i think around 30% of the balls masok longkang! hehehe Never mind, the more people masok longkang, the more the chance of me getting highest score!! Wee hee heee!!

My dad has the ability to clear the spares very well, especially with the Hawk in store!! hahaha He didnt wanna play initially and sat on the stools drinking his kopi! hahaha atlast, the temptations set in as he heard pinfall after pinfall crashing in the still of the atmosphere.. hehehe cheyy!!! Off he hopped to get himself his own size 9 shoes!!

Fantastic day out for a fantabulous Chinese New Year holiday!! Hope to haf more of such fun-filled activities with the family!! I heard Zoo is coming up next!! It dun matter if Ah Meng is away in the heavens rite? we still got lotsa animals to see!!

MY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE!!!!

Hello blog!! i think i shall give my blog a name since it holds most of my views and reflections on life!! From today onwards, let me refer to you as Chak Chak Leng.. yes yes!

Aniwaes, hi everyone! harap2 semue sihat sejahtera! I just feel that i need to explain the photograph taken below.. it has become my wallpaper for my handphone as i like it a lot.. =D it was taken at my void deck with 10 of my fellow frens all crowding around the camera!

And yes, we took turns taking pics wif "Mr Sleeping Man with Work Permit"! hehehe if u think my pic is funny, wait till i upload the others!! it might even receive a warning from MICA for being explicit.. hehehe

Aniwaes, today was Chinese New Year Eve!! So, being in a multiracial and multiethnic society like Singapore, i would like to share the oy and festivities of the occasion by wishing all Chinese who happen to chance upon my 'Chak Chak Leng' a very happy and prosperous Year of the Rat!! May all good things fall in your path this year and may the bad ones stay clear and fall unto others people's paths..

Well, with reunion dinner awaiting practically all households in Singapore, there was not much of a shock as i walked around Uni campus and didnt face the usual hustle n bustle of NUS peepz jostling along the corridors!!

Well, i did haf a make up tutorial for tmrw, which i must add, was superbly intresting and energetic due to the large number of pupils attending today's session!! =D reallie learnt new perspective and divorced myself from common discourse of everyday thinking! Cheyyyy...

After which, i had a lecture for culture!! it was as usual, filled wif information! hahaha nampak sah.. but then, 15mins into the lect, me, fairus n zuraimi started to glance at each other, fidgeting around.. we knew wad was to come..

This posting is specially dedicated to a great friend who many i noe, he has impacted in their lives..

Mr Walid has filled our NUS Forum with his unmistakeable laughter for the past 2 years and counting and his positive spirit plus enviable CAP score has made him a role model to many of now several. hahahaha (excuse me cos i dun haf an extensive vocab)

He is now in Amsterdam, Holland to expand his knowledge and happiness to Europeans for the next 5 months!! hehehe i personally would like to wish him all the best in everything he does in life and not onli in Amsterdam.

Semoga segala cubaan akan ditempuhi dgn tabah dan senyuman terukir di bibir.. =D Dun worry walid, if i were the PD for this year's FOC, ill postpone it till the defending best faci comes back to tanahair ya? hahaha

Fantabulous Sunday!!

At long last, i haf decided to UPDATE my blog!! maaf lah kepada sesiape yg sudi menjengok sekejap just to check if i had been tinkering wif my creativity n coming up wif new postings!!

Well, wait no longer!! cos imma try to start updating weekly AT LEAST ya!!??

Aniwaes, this is a monday. and i had a great Sunday i tell ya!! Mostly becos of the wedding which we attended!! Naim's brother got married on Saturday and had the festivities on Sunday, amongst relatives n friends!!

I dont haf much pics at the moment but will post em once i do!! However, id like to give a shout out n appreciation to a band of brothers who haf been there and share the same intrest in kompang for the past 9 years and lots more to come!!

Here they are!! tho not all are still playing kompang wif us and there are new additions to our band of brothers, those in this classic photo sure has created and continue to create lasting impressions in my life.. Walaupon tak glamour nak mucshy mushy pat sini, i shall try to express some feelings without going over the 'kental-ar-beb!' meter k?

We had the honour of ushering naim';s bro and his bride for the whole of Sunday and simultaneously it became a reunion and laughter fracas soon ensued.. takkan sah kalau tak ketawe di dalam khalayak mereka..

~ Kalau orang takde mulut pon pasti tersenyum.. ~

Well, we did reach a milestone on sunday as we played a new song for the first time in 9 years!! yes u heard me right, 9 years!! hahaha kalau da ader anak, dier da primary 3!! hahaha well the new song was Saloma's 'Selamat Pengantin Baru' yg lama bagaikan memori tapi tak lapok dimamah usia..

The best part was at Naim's house where we played silat, naim n zuraimi performed their virgin silat pengantin attempts and we played our hearts out!! (some of us bled) hahaha but its not supposed to be that gory okaes... Kompang is a budaya and it contains aesthatics to cushion the harsh effects of modernisation. (Dr Aisha, 2007, well, not the kompang part)

Hehehe well, since u got the klasik pictures, let me show u how we haf evolved ya? hahaha this are nice pics as i think it reflects the fun people we are and that we stil can make fun out of anitin we see.. kami bertemu ibarat menambahkan api ke minyak masak.. pasti dapat makanan lazat nyer.. =)
Here we see additions to the kompang fraternity namely hassan yg tengah gelek ligat di hadapan serta fahmi yg merupakan insan yg telah terluka di tangan semalam.. (tapi biar luka di tangan, jangan terluka di hati...) hehehe

Walid is living proof of how fun it was on that fateful Eid Mubarak Gathering hosted by Muslim Society!! Next year jempot lah kami lagik k?? =D

Hi blog of mine!! i haf long abaikan u.. tapi memang takkan ku lupekan address mu yg memang one in a million gituk.. =) Well, hello again u!! lawa lah layout awak, courtesy if kak Mai kiter!!! aweee heeeee!!!

Well, well.. Its just been hari raya for the year 2007!!! hari raye tahun ni jatuh tanggal 14 Oct 2007 on a Saturday!! Fantabulous times tau, due to the off days my dad got this year and my brudder dpt balek ke pangkuan ibu bapa di Jurong West and i got more than enuf baju raye this year!! hahaha

Preparations were great too!! I at last did the wire for the skeleton of the lap lip!! hahaha this year we are gonna challenge the others' with our 2 boxes of lights which may be powerful enuf to reach the malaysian astronauts on the Intl Space Station!! =) wanna see em?? heheheh

~ Itu dia pemandangan lap lip rumah ku dgn crescent n star yg malap sikit. hahaha But worth a shot dun u think?? =) shld win the others' hands down tho..

Moving along, we took the family pics using the timer on the ever-trusted blue digicam of ours!! Thus, pls sit back n relax n enjoy the sights on the 'sombre' Beraya custom of the Aziz family!!!

Selang beberape tahun semenjak due menjak kiter together... Maseha der time kiter berhenti di samping arus hidup yg berkecamuk ini... dan berfikir sejenak... Walaupon ramai dugaan yg dilalui dan plenty of onaks n duris nak ditempuhi... Kite sempat membuat keputusan pada hari yg tertentu itu..

I ingat benar hari itu kerana itu hari lah kiter membuat perkare lain drpd yg lain!! Tak pernah didengari ramai!! Direstui ugama dan digalakkan masyarakay setempayt Bukit Panjang!! Kami telah membuat keputusan... untuk..

PERGI KE SHENG SIONG!!!!! hahahahaha =)

Ye sayer! Nan & Mai telah berjalan ke Sheng siong ten mile junction untok membeli belah perkakas baru... Tidak, bukan untuk rumah "kami", tetapi buat masa kini, untuk rumah "
masing-masing".. hahahaa

Well, Mai Humhum Bunny had to get a thermos to surprise her mummy while i got attracted to the good buys on the second storey of Ten Mile Junction till i myself go a small fan and an iron!! cos mine is lmost broken at home!! Maklumlah, tangan kadang2 deceiving me with its capabilites n strengths...

Aniwaes, kami berasa gembira sungguh sebab dpt go on a never-before-gone-on date!! hahahhaa beli electrical appliances plak tu!! hahahaha macam2 lah kami berdue ni!!

We proceeded on to Magic Wok to have our dinner!! and the menu was satisfying lah, considering that i was hungry to the max despit being under the weather wif diarhoea! hahhaa well, we sat on a sofa set and ordered the usual Thai Belachan Fried Rice, Fried wanton and Bandung/Lime Juice (i tink)!!

The meal would haf been a fantastically romantic and full of laughter if not for a brat whu keptyelling and screaming beside us!! The parents seemed like nice people but the little toddler was just.. urggghhh!!! Someone shld tie that offspring and keep her in the freezer till the parents asked for the bill!! even the family beside us were complaining rather out loud-ly!!!

Hahahhahaa aniwaes, we took pics at the bustop opp. Ten Mile and thus, here are the better ones!! (honesty mah...)

Well, just wanna sae that every dae wif u is sumting to look forward to cos someway, so0mehow u tend to make the worst days n the borng-est moments come alive wif a spark of ingenuity and creativeness!! Ur fantastic Mai Bunny!

Well, well.. after a long absence, I haf finally mustered enough discipline to set myself upon another blog entry.. well, as we all know, absence makes the heart grow fonder rite?? *winks*

Hello there my bloggie! just wanted to tell ya that lots haf been going on wif my wonderful life over the past few months!! namely i got a job at HometeamNS Events Dept summore!! Loving life at Bukit Gombak! wonderful people, sufficient pay, nice environment and its convenient as contract would either end end of March or just before school starts! =)

Secondly, would like to inform the whole wide world that Valentine;s day has never been much more filled wif joy n surprises! it was relaxing, spontaneous, funny, romantic.. all rolled into one lovely wednesday!! Well, u can imagine!

1) Things started out wif a formal exchange of gifts.. i on one hand thought tht my presents would be "over the top-earning me a shower of praise" kinda gift! just for ur info, i got mai bunny a card wif self -made pop up of her name, a card, a burnt CD of love ballads and an adorable Doraemon soft toy 30cm tall! ahhaahahaa i tot dat was great!! cos i loved the doraemon!! Well, just for ur info, i lost hands down to wittle humhum bunny's myriad of gifts!! wanna see them? well, feast ur eyes on these.....

Oh yes! u guessed it alrite! Mai humhum bunny bought me all these sweetie stuff and wrapped 'em nice nice in a superbly decorated hamper!! i was oh' so happy that day!! fantastic i say!! U truly haf outdone urself wittle one!! Thankies so so veri muchies!! i still cant finish all of 'em even tho da 2 minggu!! hahahaha

Just for u guys out there, a sneak peek at the hamper!! the base tho.. Hardworkingly cut out heart shaped paper lining the silvery background of the hamper base.. Makes my heart melt like chocs in the sun..

This was the bestest present i have EVER received sweetheartku!! Truly truly!! Thankies for all the hard work put into it! So creative! So mind boggling!! Thankiup thankiup thankiup!!!

One day, if you dun mind, id like to folow suit and give u a hamper pressie too! wif your exams around the corner, u shall need your snacks for break time!! hahaaha till the next post then wubsters!
